How PDFCano processes your documents locally in your browser.

Your documents stay on your device

PDFCano processes selected files in your browser's memory. It does not upload documents or file names to a server, and does not save them to cookies, local storage or a remote account. You choose whether to save the finished download on your device.

A temporary workspace

Selected files, previews and generated downloads remain available in the current page while you work. Clear the workspace or close the page to release the application's references to them. This is not a secure memory-erasure guarantee. Your browser and operating system manage memory and downloaded files.

What the website loads

The page loads its application code, fonts and PDF support files from the same site. It uses no advertising trackers or third-party CDNs; optional Google Analytics traffic measurement operates under the regional privacy policy described below. Ordinary website requests reveal connection information, such as your IP address, to the server delivering the page; that is separate from your document contents. Hosting providers may maintain access logs.

Optional analytics and cookies

This site may offer optional Google Analytics 4 to understand general traffic trends under regional privacy policies: in regions requiring prior consent (EEA, UK, Switzerland, and conservative jurisdictions) or where visitor region is unknown, measurement only activates if you explicitly choose Allow in the footer settings. In other recognized regions, measurement is enabled by default with opt-out available at any time via the footer settings (remains off if storage is blocked). If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) or Do Not Track (DNT) signal, Google analytics remains completely inactive. Opting out or withdrawing consent at any time never restricts access to any tool.

When enabled, Google Analytics uses pseudonymous cookies (such as _ga, expiring in up to 180 days) to distinguish unique visits, and your choice is remembered in localStorage for up to 180 days (or temporary memory if storage is unavailable). Google receives standard connection metadata, including your IP address, browser type, device details, referring domain, and clean page addresses without document data or fragments. Advertising features, Google Signals, and ad personalization are disabled with no cross-site identification; network requests transmit your IP address to Google to facilitate the connection, and data may be processed on servers outside your country by Google and its affiliates. Google Analytics is configured to limit user-level and event-level data retention to 2 months with reset on new activity disabled; standard aggregate reports may remain longer. Cookie consent choice and pseudonymous cookies expire in up to 180 days. You can opt out or withdraw consent at any time via the footer settings; doing so immediately stops data collection and clears Google analytics cookies without removing your local settings.

First-party page counting

PDFCano counts page views on its own server to know which pages are useful. This first-party counting uses no cookies and no third-party analytics. It records the page and language, the referring host name, a coarse country code, and browser, device and system categories summarised from the request; it does not store IP addresses or the full browser identifier.

Each visitor is counted only through an irreversible hash that includes a random salt changed every day, so visits cannot be linked across days. Raw records are deleted after 14 days; only daily totals are kept longer. Your documents are never part of this count.

When you email us

If you write to contact@pdfcano.com, the message is received by the email routing service of Cloudflare, which passes it on to the mailbox our operators read, hosted by Google (Gmail), and also hands a copy to a small program we run on Cloudflare, which keeps it only until our own server has fetched it — normally within minutes and never longer than 14 days. Our server, hosted by Google Cloud in the United States, keeps your email address and name, the subject, the text of the message, the technical headers and the names and sizes of any attachments (not the attachments themselves) in our internal support list for up to 180 days and then deletes them. Cloudflare's delivery log records the sender and recipient addresses, the subject and the result of the delivery for about a month. We use your message only to answer you, keep it only as long as we need it and delete it when you ask us to. Please do not attach documents you have not chosen to share.

Your choices

No account is required. Select only files you are allowed to process, keep your original copies, and check the output before sharing it. Browser extensions and software on your device operate outside PDFCano's control. Questions about privacy: contact@pdfcano.com.
